FAQ
Is Salt Good for You?
Salt has long been debated, but modern research shows it’s essential for a healthy, well-functioning body. Sodium regulates many critical functions, including:
- Improving sleep, energy, and focus (Washington Post: https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/we-eat-a-lot-of-salt-but-scientists-say-there-are-good-reasons-for-that/2015/05/04/69ff7058-c806-11e4-a199-6cb5e63819d2_story.html)
- Supporting cardiovascular health (NIH: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5328355/)
- Balancing blood pressure and fluid levels (Medical News Today: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/187978#symptoms)
- Strengthening the nervous system (PubMed: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28922053/)
- Reducing sugar cravings (Dr. James Dinicolantonio: http://drjamesdinic.com/the-surprising-mineral-can-counteract-the-effects-of-sugar/)
Maintaining proper sodium levels helps our bodies function as they should—so we feel and perform at our best.
Why Himalayan Salt?
Not all salt is created equal. Common table salt is highly processed, stripped of beneficial minerals, and often blended with additives like dextrose (sugar) and anti-caking agents. It can also contain trace pollutants such as microplastics.
Our Himalayan Pink Salt comes from ancient seabeds deep within Pakistan’s Himalayan Salt Range. Naturally mineral-rich and free from modern contaminants, it delivers a subtle taste and real hydration benefits. We work with artisanal miners to source the purest salt available.
How Much Sodium Do I Really Need?
According to Dr. James DiNicolantonio, optimal intake for most people is 3,000–5,000 mg of sodium per day on non-workout days. On workout days, intake may need to rise to 5,000–7,000 mg, depending on sweat loss and activity level.
Individual needs vary based on diet, pregnancy, nursing, kidney function, and other lifestyle factors. For a deeper breakdown, see *The Salt Fix* by Dr. DiNicolantonio.
Can I Drink Himalayan Salt Water All Day?
Yes. Each 500 ml can contains 150 mg of sodium—a small, functional amount designed to help replenish electrolytes lost through daily activity or workouts. It supports hydration and keeps the body performing at its best.
What Are the Signs of Low Sodium?
Sodium intake can be tricky to measure, but the body gives clear warning signs when levels are too low. Symptoms may include:
1. Cold extremities
2. Dark urine or reduced urine output
3. Dizziness, lightheadedness, or low blood pressure
4. Fatigue or sluggishness
5. Muscle cramps
6. Salt cravings
7. Dry mouth or tongue
8. Fainting (in extreme cases)
If you’re experiencing several of these, you may need to increase your sodium intake.
Is Himalayan Salt Really from the Himalayas?
Yes. We start with pristine water from Quebec, Canada, which is purified down to its pure H₂O form. We then blend it with authentic Himalayan Pink Salt mined from Pakistan’s Salt Range—part of the western Himalayan Mountains.
This combination delivers some of the purest water and salt in the world.
What Makes Himalayan Salt Water Different?
Our water is unique because of its purity and mineral profile. It combines clean Canadian spring water with authentic Himalayan salt, creating a smooth taste while delivering natural electrolytes. Unlike most “functional waters,” it’s free from sugar, artificial additives, and unnecessary fillers.
